Access Control
Information and controls technology is combined to secure a building whilst
it is operational.
Using proximity card technology and computer control, the movement of personnel
can be automatically controlled 24 hours a day.
Access levels and time zones are set at computer level. Transactions are stored
to an archive for management analysis.
Proximity Cards and
Readers
Radio frequency based technology (RFID) tags and cards allow for doors to
be operated without the need for physical contact.
Photo Imaging and Photo
ID Card Production
Digital photography and die sublimation technology provide pictures of the
badge holders and corporate information to be printed directly to the
surface ofthe access card. Storing personnel images allows visual verification
of access control transactions.
Turnstiles
Turnstiles provide physical barriers to access giving added protection to
buildings whilst they are operational and anti-pass back capability to access
control systems. Astec have a lot of experience of aesthetic application of
turnstiles in many high profile reception areas.
Video and Audio Entry
Systems
Door entry systems allow occupants of dwellings to verify the identity of
callers prior to allowing them access to communal areas.
In many apartment blocks video phones are used to add the additional security
of being able to see who is calling from a monitor phone from within the apartment.
Remote door release and porter control systems are used extensively with these
systems to add a high level of convenience.
Vehicle
Control
Gates, barriers, road blockers, access control and traffic signals are combined
to provide automatic control of vehicle movements.
Intercoms
Audio communications to access controlled areas allows operations staff to
speak with people who arrive at remote locations and therefore verify their
status.
